The introduction of a new Netflix streaming media button for Blu-Ray disc players could be about to take place in an industry-wide shift, it has been claimed.
Dynex, Haier, Memorex, Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp, Sony and Toshiba have all signed deals with the streaming media provider to incorporate direct access buttons on to the remote controls of their devices to enable users to navigate quickly to Netflix streaming media content. "No more turning on the TV, going to a home screen and searching for the Netflix icon," said Neil Hunt, chief product officer at Netflix. "With the Netflix one-click remote, it's simply a matter of pushing the Netflix button to instantly watch." Meanwhile, Gerry McLaughlin of ITContractor.com recently said that the IT sector is likely to be one of the biggest areas for growth in 2011 in terms of employment. He noted that the supply of staff might struggle to meet the demand from firms for qualified individuals as the year progresses. Posted by Geoff Phillips ![]() |
