US broadcaster CNN has begun the online streaming of its 24-hour television networks via a range of media.
From yesterday (July 18th), viewers can head to CNN.com or download the CNN applications for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch to take advantage of the live streaming service. The facility is available to more than 50 million US households that are signed up to pay TV packages with the likes of AT&T, Comcast, Verizon and more. On the same day, CNN's new video-on-demand experience launched on the broadcaster's website, bringing its live TV network to a higher-quality player. KC Estenson, general manager of CNN Digital, said: "CNN is taking a significant step forward by offering live CNN ... to our audiences, whether they are on their couches at home or have their toes in the sand on the beach." CNN reaches around 100 million homes in the US and more than 260 million across the rest of the world. The company has around 4,000 employees and 45 editorial operations. ![]() |
