ITN launched a live streaming service to allow internet users to watch Rupert Murdoch, James Murdoch and Rebekah Brooks appear in front of MPs yesterday (July 19th).
The facility was available on the UK news provider's Facebook page throughout the meeting, which was organised by the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee. MPs used the talks to attempt to find out what the Murdochs and Ms Brooks knew about the phone hacking scandal, which has resulted in the closure of the News of the World, the country's biggest selling Sunday newspaper. Viewers watching the live stream of the event will no doubt have seen a protestor attempt to shove a plate covered in shaving foam into the face of Rupert Murdoch. Jonathan May-Bowles, an activist and comedian who goes by the name Jonnie Marbles, has been accused of the act and charged with a public order offence for causing harassment, alarm or distress. ![]() |
