Movie subscription service LoveFilm is currently considering the launch of a new streaming video service in countries including the UK, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
The present online catalogue for the company is only about a tenth of the size of its DVD and Blu-Ray business, but it is hoping to capitalise on growth in this area in the future. LoveFilm chief marketing officer Simon Morris told PaidContent: "We're in the right place ... internet delivered into the living room, with the back-up of additional range delivered by post. We've got to believe that is the way forward." He added that the company is looking to expand and is hoping to develop its services in a way that benefits its customers and gives them what they want. Meanwhile, UK film lovers are about to gain even greater access to top Hollywood blockbusters following an announcement by Miramax that it is providing streaming video content to Facebook's new Movie App. Posted by Kevin Smith ![]() |
