The Moet British Independent Film Awards (Bifa) are being shown live online for the first time via a webcast that has been set up by LOVEFiLM.
It is being held at Old Billingsgate in London on December 4th and the star-studded event will be broadcast live to millions of viewers on LOVEFiLM.com. Directors of Bifa Johanna von Fisher and Tessa Collinson said: "LOVEFiLM couldn't be a more fitting partner for us and we are thrilled that true fans of British cinema will be able to watch all the action as it unfolds on the night." Meanwhile, Channel 4 is also carrying out a streaming video first of its own, with the Hippo: Wild Feast Live event being shown 24 hours per day on Channel4.com. The live feed is highlighting the food chain in action, as the carcass of a hippo is filmed live and broadcast back to the UK as it attracts the many wild beasts and birds along Luangwa River in Zambia.
