Sky News has launched a new online streaming video broadcast feed viewable from its website. The service, which is available from today (Tuesday October 13th), features an online video player which streams 24-hour news content free of charge. A tab on the Sky News website offers online news content as it appears on TV and is available to non-subscribers. In addition, the site has launched a new higher bit-rate video player which includes suggestions of similar video content in-stream, as viewers watch content. A series of related clips appear at the end of each play. Julian March, senior executive producer for Sky News online, said: "With Sky News now available on more platforms than ever - on TV, online, on mobiles, through iphone and ipod touch apps, at train stations and on planes - there's barely a screen in Britain now where you can't access Sky News." Rival news provider ITN recently teamed up with the Midland News Association to launch an online news streaming service. ![]() |
