Apple is continuing to test its streaming media systems in Australia and plans to offer free access to five live performances at the upcoming ARIA Music Awards as a result.
Customers of Apple's iTunes will be able to watch the live performances for up to seven days after the event and can tune in on the evening as the company looks to test its bandwidth and product delivery. The shows are taking place between November 1st and 5th and iOS users will have full access via the internet. Elsewhere, Virgin Media and online music provider Spotify recently announced an agreement to provide streaming audio services to Virgin customers in the UK. An unnamed Virgin Media source claimed: "Virgin Media is forging new ground in music and whilst we are currently in talks with numerous parties, we want to ensure that any service provides a truly compelling offering for both consumers and the industry." ![]() |
