A new survey shows that newspapers are increasingly using streaming video in the digital editions of their publications.
According to a report from BrightCove and TubeMogul, the 65 per cent of newspapers are now using streaming video, with deployment surging in the second quarter of this year. The Online Video and the Media Industry Quarterly Research report revealed that online streaming video consumption increased across all media categories, while the proportion of unique visitors to websites increased by an average of 2.8 per cent a month. The report also revealed that consumers watched 11 per cent more online streaming videos month-over-month compared to the last quarter. Furthermore, almost two-thirds (60 per cent) of brand marketers said they plan to invest more of their budgets in online video over the next 12 months, with 70 per cent of respondents saying they plan to add mobile video to their marketing mix over the same period. ![]() |
