TV streaming and download services such as the BBC's iPlayer will continue to be popular, according to one broadband media expert.
Commenting on the rise of catch-up TV - whereby broadband users are able to stream or download programmes they may have missed - senior analyst of broadband media at Screen Direct, Dan Cryan, has predicted such services are "here to stay".
My Cyran said: "The iPlayer itself may get upgraded, rebranded or run into other services, but I don't think we are likely to see online viewing going away soon.
And attempting to explain the success of catch-up TV: "What its providing is a genuine boon in functionality and a genuine boon for people who want to watch shows that they couldn't see otherwise."
Research by Ofcom reveals that 26 per cent of those aged 15 to 24 claim to have used the internet for 'watching TV programs' in 2008.
