closed circuit: true information

TCIJ and the ICA approached Groovy Gecko to work on Closed Circuit, a series of broadcast discussions on the status of information in the age of digital media.

Bringing together figures from the worlds of journalism, politics, media theory and the arts, the series spans state-sponsored propaganda, ‘fake news’, revised histories, and the role of non-disclosure agreements and whistle-blowers in the shaping of public perceptions. We live streamed both parts of the series from the live events taking place in London, streaming to multiple Facebook pages.

Objectives.

TCIJ needed video production as well as live stream management for their series of broadcast discussions.

What we did.

Disinformation was streamed to Facebook pages and True Information was streamed to Facebook and Twitter pages. We produced and directed a six camera shoot for both discussions and supplied a crew of five people. We managed the live streams which included v-mix management and pulling live questions and comments from their online audience as part of the discussion.
