Bupa partnered with Team Spirit and Groovy Gecko to deliver a series of accessible, informative livestreams designed to help people better understand common health concerns. Across four episodes, covering alcoholism, depression, back pain and cancer, Bupa aimed to create a safe, supportive space where viewers could learn from experts, recognise early warning signs, and feel confident seeking help when needed.
Background.
THE challenge.
Bupa required a reliable and secure platform capable of hosting high-quality livestreams with interactive features that encouraged audience participation in real time. It was crucial that the livestreams maintained the professionalism and recognisability of Bupa’s Inside Health branding, creating a seamless and on-brand digital experience. Additionally, accessibility for all viewers was a priority, requiring tools that could support diverse user needs while keeping engagement simple and intuitive.
OUR SOLUTION.
We worked closely with Team Spirit and Bupa to produce four episodes of Inside Health, livestreamed throughout the year on our EckoEnterprise platform. Each session featured specialists discussing symptoms, treatment options, and practical guidance, supported by additional resources made available directly on the event page.
To deliver a cohesive and recognisable viewing experience, the EckoEnterprise platform was fully customised to reflect Bupa’s eye-catching Inside Health branding. This allowed the livestream to feel like an extension of Bupa’s own digital presence while maintaining the production reliability and interactivity of EckoEnterprise.
To ensure the content was accessible to all viewers, we implemented our accessibility widget across the platform, providing a range of customisable options to support diverse user needs. The simple and intuitive interface made it easy for participants to locate supporting documents, take part in the chat, and submit questions throughout the live broadcast.
Each episode was made available on Bupa’s YouTube channel as well, helping the series reach viewers long after the live broadcast.
THE RESULTS.
The series has consistently attracted strong engagement, with around 3,000 registrations per episode, of which approximately 40% tuned in live, resulting in an average of around 2,000 live viewers per event.
Interactive chat helped foster a supportive community around each topic, while the accessible page design ensured viewers of all needs could engage comfortably. The YouTube versions of each session have also performed strongly, extending the programme’s reach and helping Bupa broaden access to expert-led, trustworthy health information.
