Pretty Little Thing X Zest
Pink Friday Shopping Channel
Groovy Gecko were chosen by Pretty Little Thing and Zest Production to live stream their annual Black Friday event, this year going completely virtual.
Recreating a live shopping channel experience, we live streamed the PLT Pink Friday event of competitions, flash sales, and models showcasing the brand’s favourite styles in the Black Friday sale to thousands of live viewers.
Pretty Little Thing wanted to create a live shopping channel experience, poking fun at the style of live shopping network TV. This event needed to incorporate engaging graphic overlays, live feeds mixed with pre-recorded content, and high quality production to showcase their stylist-picked looks comprising of items in their Black Friday sale. The show would be played out live on Black Friday.
What we did.
Due to Covid-19, we made safety a priority for our crew and clients, so we stripped our team to the bare essentials, with just one on-site crew member from Zest Production at the Pretty Little Thing studio in Manchester, while our streaming engineers managed the live audio and visual feeds and graphics remotely from home. As the event was a mixture of pre-recorded and live content, our Project Management team worked with the PLT team in editing and managing the time slots of the pre-recorded content and planning the run of show to incorporate all of the elements needed to create a seamless live stream.
The interactive live stream produced fantastic results, with over 14,800 people tuning in and high interactivity with over 13,500 comments posted in the YouTube chat from the live audience.
