F&F Home: Tiktok Live, Influencer led Event.

Groovy Gecko partnered with Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) and F+F Home, a Tesco brand, to deliver a unique TikTok live stream event that captured the brand’s products in an organic, mobile-first format. The challenge was to create an authentic experience for TikTok users while elevating production values, allowing the stream to feel both professional and native to the platform.

BACKGROUND.

F+F Home wanted to engage with a younger, mobile-savvy audience on TikTok, showcasing their products such as dinnerware, bedding, and bathroom essentials. They aimed to create a native, behind-the-scenes feel to resonate with TikTok’s audience, avoiding overly polished content but still elevating the overall production quality. The goal was to introduce F+F Home products through an influencer-led session while ensuring the stream didn’t feel too produced, yet maintained high standards for visuals, sound, and flexibility.

OUR SOLUTION.

Understanding the balance of authenticity and quality, Groovy Gecko proposed a creative solution that blended handheld DSLR cameras with professional production capabilities. We chose to use wireless DSLR cameras for maximum flexibility, which allowed us to film the set as if it were natural, dynamic footage captured on a mobile phone. By using wireless audio, comms, and streaming solutions, we ensured seamless integration while maintaining an organic, on-the-ground feel.

 

The set, constructed in a studio in East London, was designed to look like a stylish apartment, housing F+F Home’s products. The influencer-led 90-minute event included a walkthrough of products such as bedding, dinnerware, and bathroom accessories. We purposely avoided stabilisation rigs, keeping the camera work raw and authentic, as it would appear in typical TikTok content.

Our team executed the shoot in 9:16, the ideal aspect ratio for TikTok, creating a fully native experience for the viewers. To enhance the show, we included interactive graphics and product showcases, making it feel fresh and engaging while keeping the content easily accessible for TikTok’s younger demographic.

One of the key trends in live streaming that we leveraged was “live shoppable” – a rapidly growing trend where products can be showcased and purchased directly through the live stream. This allowed the audience to purchase F+F Home products while interacting with the show.

THE RESULTS.

The TikTok live stream proved to be a significant success, surpassing 40,000 views, a remarkable achievement for the client’s first TikTok live event. The interactive format, coupled with seamless integration of the F+F Home product range, caught the attention of viewers, encouraging interaction and engagement.

The show’s success wasn’t just measured by views; the engagement was evident through the live chat, product clicks, and emoji reactions that flooded the screen throughout the session.
