Groovy Gecko Now Most Experienced Team in the UK

Jul 19, 2011

Groovy Gecko today announced that it has expanded its team by taking on well-known and respected expert in the field of streaming media, Jake Ward.

Jake will be taking on the role of Business Development Director, responsible for managing key accounts, as well as further expanding the company’s reach into new markets and territories.

Jake has worked in the streaming industry for over fifteen years. In that time he has produced the first webcast from the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong, developed video strategies for major high street names, and even climbed Mount Fuji, although we are still waiting for that webcast. He comes to Groovy Gecko from Broadview Communications, where, in his role as Director of Accounts, he developed both a wide range of content programming, including over 50 live interactive programmes for BT, and managed major accounts including National Grid, ACCA, BT, IBM, and Cisco.

Craig Moehl, CEO, Groovy Gecko, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Jake to our expert team. He has a wealth of experience and is well respected in the streaming community. I am in no doubt that he will be an excellent asset to the already strong team here at Groovy Gecko.”

“I am very pleased to be a Gecko” added Jake Ward, Business Development Director, Groovy Gecko. “I have worked with the team for a number of years, in my various roles at BroadView and have always been very impressed by their professionalism and expertise. There is no doubt that Groovy Gecko remain the leaders in this industry and I look forward to building the brand in new areas of the market.”

The news follows the recent inclusion of Technical Director, Eddie Robins, in the Streaming Media Dream Team. Eddie Robins joined Groovy Gecko in 1999 as a founding member, and has played a key part in moulding the company into a well regarded, successful, profitable, and progressive specialist webcast provider.

For 11 years, Eddie has pioneered value-added software to enhance streaming services. The two top products have been the Groovy Gecko Live Presentation System and the Insight stats package, as appreciated by FTSE 100 companies right down to the smaller production companies.

“I am delighted that Eddie has been picked as part of this year’s Dream Team,” commented Craig Moehl, CEO, Groovy Gecko. “Eddie has been the technical visionary behind the success and ongoing development of our systems and wholeheartedly deserves this recognition.”

Groovy Gecko is no stranger to this honour, as the CEO, Craig Moehl has been a member of the inaugural Dream Team for the past two years. The new appointment cements Groovy Gecko’s position as the leader in the UK webcasting industry.
