Help us win a Streaming Media European Readers’ Choice Award

We are very pleased to announce that we have been nominated in three categories in Streaming Media Magazine’s European Readers’ Choice Awards. The awards are voted for by the public so you can help us by going to the Streaming Media Europe site and voting for us in the appropriate categories.

The categories are:

Best Live Webcast

This nomination is for our work with Channel 4 and Windfall films on Easter Eggs Live, two one hour live programmes over Easter bank holiday weekend. This innovative natural history documentary included a full week of streaming ahead of the live television programmes with the production team curating content from 50 live sources from around the world and having 17 streams live at any one time. Groovy Gecko supplied the infrastructure and hardware to make this possible and we also built a custom production stream management system which allowed the production team to manage the streaming via a secure web interface. This system also allowed the production team to take screengrabs of the streams to enhance the content of each of the individual animal’s pages on the Channel 4 website, which can be seen here.

Best streaming services provider

This nominations caps a year which saw over 20% growth in our business driven by innovative projects with Channel 4 and Littlewoods, a substantial increase in our social streaming services and continued growth of our operations with BP, Next, ARUP and GHD.

We have webcast from around the world in multiple languages and completed some of the most complex streaming jobs on the planet.

Best Webcast platform

The continual development of our Live Presentation System (LPS) in 2012 has we believe lead to the creation of the best platform available, but you don’t have to take our word for it as several of our larger clients have described elements of the LPS as ‘the best they have ever seen’.

By focusing the product on driving user engagement through better reporting, interaction and user experience along with unique functionality like live interactive multi-language programming we are able to offer features available nowhere else. In addition the modular flexibility of the system allow us to build on existing functionality to develop bespoke solution for specific briefs and project built on a stable code base which has been developed over the last 5 years.

The innovation will continue in 2013 and deliver what we believe will be the very best platform in the world.

Voting for awards closes on 24th May so please get clicking on Streaming Media Europe site to help us add more awards to the Groovy Gecko trophy cabinet.
