Look out for the Groovy Geckos at Media Production Show and Tech XLR8!

This June is a busy month for Groovy Gecko as we attend both Media Production Show and London Tech Week. Our Business Development Director, Jake Ward, will also be representing us at Innovation Day in Manchester later this month.

Media Production Show 2018

As always, MPS is one of the biggest shows in our diary so we’re really looking forward to returning to Olympia, London between 12-13th June for another exciting year. You can register for the event for free here. At booth 552 we’ll be demoing our technology for interactive live streaming into social media. This is the same technology we’ve used for a number of high-profile social projects including a live stream for Nike in which the sports brand launched a new football boot.

Not only did this stream reach more than 3 million views on Facebook, it was also voted as the number one live experience of 2017 by Campaign Magazine. Part of its success can be attributed to a unique polling tool which allowed the audience to engage by voting for who they believed was the most skilful football player.

Live video on social media is an effective marketing tool because of the potential to reach huge audiences who are already searching for engaging content. Many brands are using dynamic functionality to communicate with fans via live video, but the medium is also proving popular within other sectors including not-for-profits.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we helped the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) live stream a special Q&A session on Facebook Live. As a Facebook Live Video Solutions Partner, Groovy Gecko was able to build a tool that sits on top of the platform and uses limited profile data to enable us to alter the viewing experience for male viewers. This was done with exactly 26.8% of the stream remaining to highlight the current gender pay gap at management level which also stands at 26.8%.

If you’re interested in other uses of live video, we’ve got you covered. At MPS we will also be showcasing our tool for corporate live streaming: our Live Presentation System. This is also available as a self-managed version, for clients with in-house facilities. This product allows corporate organisations to deliver fully produced live video, complete with interactive elements and tracking information. It is already being used by several large organisations including a well-known, global energy company and an investment group.

Live video is becoming a much bigger tool within the corporate world, from webcasting AGM’s and company meetings, to training staff. You can find out more about the many uses of live video for internal comms in one of our latest articles here.

London Tech Week – Tech XLR8

For the first time, Groovy Gecko will be participating in London Tech Week by exhibiting at the anchor event, Tech XLR8, between the 12-14th June. You can attend for free by registering here – we’ll be at booth DCW206 so come and find us!

We’re looking forward to joining a plethora of technology companies that have helped reform the way businesses operate in the digital age. At the show, Groovy will showcase how businesses can make the most of the opportunities presented by live video for marketing and business operations. Not only is live video a great way to communicate externally, but live video for internal comms has proven to be a ‘productivity enabler’ according to Mark Blair, VP of EMEA at Brightcove. It builds trust between a company and its employees, and it also facilitates a better way of communicating with global teams.

You can find out more about both our social live streaming and corporate tool at the Media Production Show (booth 552) and Tech XLR8 (booth DCW206). Why not book a meeting with us beforehand by contacting
