What We Do
Groovy Gecko offer a range of live streaming and on-demand video products, all which come with technical advice and support from our team, and are tailored to fit each client’s requirements.
The Live Process: Groovy Gecko has delivered thousands of successful live webcasts from all over the world. Our expertise stem from 20 years of experience, using our tried and tested software and having a comprehensive process of risk identification and management.
Firstly, our general development and testing process ensures that the pages we create work seamlessly. Then we thoroughly test available bandwidth on-site and create a contingency plan in case bandwidth becomes unavailable. Ahead of going live the testing is repeated with feeds from the production team to ensure picture quality and audio levels are correct.
During the webcast we monitor all streams off-site to ensure that if any problems occur during broadcast, they can be identified and dealt with quickly by the on-site team (who our monitoring team are in constant contact with).
The Connectivity: Groovy Gecko prides itself on finding a live streaming solution in even the most challenging environments. As an addition to our live streaming services, we benefit from a satellite downlinking facility which connects to the BT Tower in London and the equivalent centre in New York.
We also have a suite of ‘connectivity backpack’ units which can provide a connectivity solution where internet is limited on-site. This is particularly useful for outside broadcasts and on the move live streams. The units work by bonding cellular data to create an upstream internet connection which transmits video content back to our London hub.
Our broad range of signal acquisition options allow us to acquire content from anywhere in the world without needing to be on-site. Once we have the feed at our London hub, we can then deliver the streams to a variety of platforms and devices.
For Online Video Platform (OVP) and hosting services we have a rigorous Agile development process which enables clients to have earlier access to their platform as it is being created. This means we can have a truly iterative development process which ensures clients get the functionality they need in a platform which is fully integrated with their existing systems and looks and feels like their own product.
