Achieving accessibility is a long term commitment and we acknowledge that there may be considerable challenges and we will not always get it right 100% of the time. We are still learning ourselves. Within the context of complex events platforms with numerous features, plugins, and security options, achieving a perfect balance between functionality, UI/UX, and accessibility can be challenging. However, at Groovy Gecko, we believe that a harmonious co-existence of these elements is attainable. We always strive to exceed the current accessibility standards, where practical, and are currently working to achieve a level of (WCAG 2.1 AAA. Indeed, we are already looking forward to accessing WCAG 2.0 compliance when the new standard is released.

Our accessibility journey began 20 years ago when Groovy Gecko produced the very first live, unscripted subtitled webcast with BSL. This was for a webcast of then chairman Bert Massie of the Disabilities Rights Commission (DRC) and was a landmark milestone in what was technically possible in the industry to support those with accessibility needs.
Since then we have tried to implement best practices and reflect this in the technical capabilities of our platform as well as an attitude make things easier for viewers on the platform.
